Sneak peak at Submergence, Squidsoup’s new project on show at Galleri ROM, Oslo, Norway, January 17 – February 17 2013
EXHIBITION LAUNCH AT 1900, GALLERI ROM, MARIDALSVEIEN 3, OSLO!!
Submergence explores immersion and interaction within volumetric light based visuals created through 8,064 individual points of light.
A Squidsoup project by Anthony Rowe, Gaz Bushell, Chris Bennewith, Liam Birtles and Ollie Bown.
Submergence was built with the support of Norsk Kulturråd (Norwegian Arts Council), Oslo School of Architecture and Design and Galleri ROM.
Submergence will also be featured in Oslo LUX 2013 ( oslolux.no )

Russian artists Leonid Tishkov and Boris Bendikov created a fantastic world illuminated with the moonlight where they tried to convey relations between the man and the Moon. This is a romantic story about a man who met the Moon and decided to stay with it forever. They named the installation ‘Private Moon’.

Rare Fire Rainbows: It looks like a rainbow on fire but these circumhorizontal arcs aren’t rainbows. They are caused by light passing through high-altitude cirrus clouds. The sun has to hit the clouds at precisely 58 degrees and have just enough crystals in order to form in the sky.
